About Nanostructures & Molecular Interactions

The Flinders University Nanostructures and Molecular Interactions Research Group is comprised of more than 55 specialist scientists working on molecular assembly processes, nanostructure development, and the regulation and manipulation of molecular processes. Many of these processes have direct Industry application as explained in the NMI research fields called Capabilities.

We support fundamental, innovative and cross-disciplinary research that unites medical researchers, chemists, physicists, biologists and biotechnologists in the task of improving people's quality of life.

The NMI membership also encompasses a number of unique facilities (including separate Electronic and Mechanic Workshops, an Advanced Analytical Laboratory and Bioremediation sites) that are available to Flinders University Staff as well as other Research Institutes, companies and individuals, wishing to collaborate or contract work on specific projects.
